Before it became a dining destination, the building now known as Barney's Bar & Bistro had a rich history as Barney’s Rubble, a distinctive second-hand and antique shop. Housed in a converted shearing shed, Barney's Rubble was renowned for its eclectic collection of vintage treasures, rustic furniture, and quirky collectibles. Locals and visitors alike would explore its aisles, uncovering unique finds that reflected the character and charm of the Grampians region.
As time passed, the shearing shed underwent a transformation, embracing its rustic roots while evolving to meet the community's changing needs. The space was thoughtfully renovated to become Barney’s Bar & Bistro, preserving its original timber beams and corrugated iron features to maintain the authentic country atmosphere. The venue now offers hearty bistro fare, a wide-open beer garden, and cozy indoor dining, all set against the stunning backdrop of the Grampians National Park.
